Three topic areas converge to form a solid foundation upon which students build a consistent biblical worldview.

  Worldviews
What could your friends possibly be thinking in a tolerant society?
Have you ever assumed someone thinks like you only to discover you are not on the same page? How should we live in a society that advocates tolerance? Can everybody’s viewpoint co-exist without consequence? Multiculturalism defines our society. How do the various groups see the world they live in? In these sessions you’ll look at people’s worldview - their presuppositions about reality and morality. Various worldviews such as Islam, Atheism, Secular Humanism, and Pantheism will be included as part of this topic. This will also include a look into how the creation and evolution viewpoints have influenced our society.

Closer to home, some of your friends would say their belief system doesn’t have a label; what they believe isn’t an ”ism”. Collectively what they do think does have a label. You’ll explore how this relativism can shape our thinking individually and collectively. This includes a session on how pop culture influences us with marketing the cool factor. You’ll assess the differences and consider tensions created as it is compared to the Christian worldview. In all of what is presented, the importance of a graceful manner will be encouraged as one proceeds to explain or defend the Christian worldview.

Apologetics
Tongue tied expressing and sharing your faith?
Ever wish you had expressed your faith better in a conversation you’ve had with a friend? Apologetics can help. It’s the rational defense of Christian faith. The subject begins with an introductory outline and expands on two major premises - the existence of God and the authority of the Bible. These sessions will help you to better understand how to share or defend your faith.

You’ll learn about the great Christian apologists, past and present, and their most popular works. Included is a study of the relationship between faith and reason, between ideas and actions. Sessions will include critical thinking, that is, logical thinking vs. faulty arguments, debating techniques and a practicum. You will receive take-home resources to continue studies at home and pursue ongoing discussions with parents and friends.

Leadership
Who will lead them?
Have you thought of yourself as a leader? Sometimes our preconceptions limit our understanding of the leadership potential that could be a part of who we are. This will be your opportunity to have an in-depth look into being a leader and discover what your personal leadership style could be. Leaders and leadership styles come in all shapes and sizes. For instance, there are leaders who are gifted in launching new ventures, others who tackle growing needs by leading change, and still more who rise to leadership in response to an injustice.

Leadership by definition is initiating and guiding the actions of groups of people. Christ said in order to be a leader, you must be a servant. How does this redefine our view of being a leader? Workshops will cover principles of leadership, help identify your leadership abilities, and help you envision the leadership roles you can assume immediately. You’ll receive practical tools to grow into servant leadership. Group sessions will cover critical thinking, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
