Why a worldview conference?

We at CYWAL would like to partner with parents to provide Christian worldview training to senior high school students. We recognize the challenge and immensity of the task of Christian training of our youth, and as such designed this conference as a tool for you, the parents, to accomplish this goal. Your high school age students have the capacity and natural desire to explore intellectually, to grasp, and to ultimately begin truly understanding the world around them. As parents we can expedite their understanding of the truths of this world by placing it in the context of a Christian worldview.

Our conference will provide students with a firm understanding of what they believe, evidences for that belief, and how that belief affects the way they view their personal lives and their world. Emphasis will be given to equipping them with a ready defense against opposition to the validity of their faith.

Many of us as parents did not receive this training ourselves, and it is with this in mind that we would encourage you to study the take-home resources with your teens. Build up a library of resource books based on suggestions in the student binders. Learn along with them. We would further encourage a proactive and strategic plan with regard to Christian worldview training for your youth.

Comments from students:

“This is a fantastic conference to grow in your faith and learn how to defend and share your faith. I’ve learned so much that I feel prepared to discuss religions and worldviews with other people.”

“It’s a crucial training week for students who are concerned with living lives as authentic followers of Christ. This training opportunity will reinforce the foundations of rational faith using evidence to support the claims of both worldviews to reveal which is more plausible and consistent...”

“CYWAL has changed my life. It has challenged and inspired me to live for God in everything I do and to constantly share Christ’s love with others...The people here have challenged me to live at a higher standard for God.”

Comments From parents:

“(My son) thoroughly enjoyed the week and said it was great. He was stretched; he said his faith was stretched and strengthened; he came back on fire for God; he made great friendships, and much more. His first response to how he liked it was, "Can I go again next year? It was great!". He learned so much and is anxious to read more and learn more about apologetics. How exciting that is!”

“She was really moved by the experience and cried in the car ride home.”

“I would highly recommend the experience. From class work, presenters, and reading material, to time with peers, to helping the adult volunteers this was an awesome experience for young people who share a common faith to come together and challenge each other as they explore their faith.”
